YorkLane Capital Partners is an alternative asset manager based in Toronto, Canada with a focus on real estate. The firm aims to be Canada’s leading asset manager and creator of value in real estate.

At YorkLane, we provide a boutique experience to our institutional and accredited individual investors and real estate owners. We believe that every successful investment must start with a clear alignment and understanding of our clients’ objectives and interests. We are results driven, invest based on fundamentals and actively asset manage to create value and to deliver attractive risk adjusted returns. 


The Executive Team comprises two seasoned real estate and private equity executives who bring together over 35 years of combined business experience.

Waldemar Halek, Managing Partner


Waldemar is a founding partner of YorkLane Capital Partners. Prior to YorkLane, he served on the senior leadership team of First Capital Realty, a TSX listed real estate company and the executive team of Elad Canada, an international real estate group of companies.  He also worked at PwC LLP in Toronto and in the United States.  He has over 20 years of real estate, finance and management experience.

Waldemar holds a dual MBA degree from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University and Schulich School of Business, York University.  He is also a Chartered Professional Accountant in Canada, CPA, CA and a Certified Public Accountant in the United States, CPA.

Bernard Koszyk, Managing Partner


Bernard is a founding partner of YorkLane Capital Partners. Prior to YorkLane, he held roles at BMO Capital Markets Investment Banking and Brookfield Asset Management in their property group in New York, NY.  Bernard began his career in the assurance and advisory practices of PwC LLP in Toronto.  He has over 20 years of real estate, private equity and corporate finance experience.

Bernard holds an MBA in Finance and HBA from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto and is a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant, CPA, CA.


The Executive Team is complemented by an experienced Advisory Board comprised of senior business executives with expertise in various aspects of running an asset management platform. The Board provides non-binding strategic advice in building, growing and managing the firm and assists when we encounter real or potential conflicts of interest.
